I am aware that this letter may be completely tossed to the wayside, for it is bold and improper for a simple lady of Taengea to write a letter to the Royal house of Kotas with no proper personal introduction or invitation to do such. I am Lady Selene of Leventi, Daughter of Georgios and Evelli of the house Leventi. I had the honor of meeting Prince Vangelis during his last visit to Taengea at the festival. Since then, he has been generous in writing letters back and forth, via a mutual friend in the Royal Athenian house.
I cannot deny that I first thought that he did not wish to write, after sending him two letters without his normal reply. However, I have since heard of his injury and I cannot deny that I am genuinely concerned about his well-being. I know that my own curiosities are far from your thoughts, but I find myself overnight in Colchis due to poor weather on my way home from Athenia to Taengea and have listened for whispers of the Prince's condition, and have heard none. I cannot deny that his condition has been on my mind since learning of it.
I would not suggest a reply, for I know it is not my place to do so. However, my family's home here has been opened up for the evening to allow me refuge until the storm passes. If you could possibly pass word along to the Prince that the Lady Selene has been praying continuously for his health and well being? And that I hope him the swiftest of recoveries so that he may continue his doing what he seems to love the most-- serving the people of Colchis. And, if it is not too much to wish from you, perhaps you may allow my slave to hear of his condition so that she may report back to me? It would do much to put my mind at ease, although I know that is no concern of yours.
I will continue to pray to the Gods for a swift recovery, guided by Hermes. And I will continue to offer my prayers to Aphrodite for wealth and happiness for the Royal family of Colchis. May the Gods keep you and yours safe.
Most Humble and Respectful,
Lady Selene of Leventi.
