Evelli always had grand plans for the wedding of her daughters. Beyond simply just marrying them off to men of the highest ranking of royals and nobles, Evelli always intended for their ceremonies of marriage to be a celebration of pomp and extravagance, befitting of her girls who had been dubbed the jewels of Taengea.
That pleasure had been taken away from her with the need for Olympia's rushed marriage. Do not get her wrong, for she did not fault Olympia for the unconventional methods in which she had landed her husband. It did not detract from the fact that one of her daughter's was now married to the King of Taengea and was likely already mother to the next heir of the Kingdom. But she did so wanted to arrange her wedding, rather then the rushed ceremony it had to be.
A pang of melancholy hit her at the thought of Olympia, for thinking of her meant a reminder that both her eldest and her third born was in parts unknown - Evelli had received a missive from an annonymous source the morning after the arrival of the Egyptian delegate and the court session that had been arranged in their honor, just a week ago. She had simultaneously learned (from gossip off the streets) that the accused King and his wife was missing, whilst the same time knowing (from the annonymous missive) that her daughter was at least safe and alive, even if her location was not disclosed.
Where she was, for now, Evelli would not ask. She would find out later, but for now, Evelli was happy in knowing that her daughter and first grandchild was safe somewhere within Greece.
For now, she would need to ensure her second born was married off first.
The wedding has been long delayed already, and it would not be delayed any longer. Evelli had exchanged many missives with Lady Myrto over the last two weeks, in arranging and ensuring the last minor details of the wedding would be finalized. Her daughter would, in essence, be marrying a prince now. It seemed inevidable now that Stephanos would be convicted, and that would mean Prince Irakles would ascend to the throne, which would mean Lord Achilleas would be the heir apparent.
Evelli wouldn't mind having two Queens as daughters.
Or three, if Selene would buck up.
Georgios often told her to slow down, but Evelli could not. Her health had been ailing lately, and it simply stirred fear within the lady, for she needed to know that her daughters were taken care of. Age was no friend of hers now, especially not with all the uncertainty that now swirled around the noble circles of Taengea.
Waking up that morning, Evelli had ensured the final preparations of the proaulia ceremony that would be held that night would be done without a hitch. It was the last feast the bride would have with their family, female relatives and friends in preparation for the wedding. With recent events however, Evelli decided to scale down the celebrations, and instead opted for a private family dinner, and then would lead Theodora to the shrine of Artemis within the Leventi old manor to dedicate her childhood toys and a lock of her hair, to signify her separation from childhood and into adulthood.
By the time she found the time, the sun was already high in the sky, and only then did Evelli seek out Theodora, picking up the items she had ordered from the capitol's leathersmith and bolts of cloth, grabbing a wooden box before heading to her daughter's rooms. The seamstresses were due to arrive soon with the wedding chiton she had comissioned, for Theodora's last fitting before the wedding ceremony next week.
A light rap was all the warning Evelli gave, before the woman pushed her way in, and her eyes lit up when she saw Theodora. Entering, she ensured she closed the door behind her, before speaking up. "Yvetta would be arriving soon with your outfit. Are you ready, Theo?"
