The moon reflected beautifully against the waves of the lakes nearby the city walls. The moon was held so brightly against the clearest of skies this night, and Pavlos stood still with freshly fallen water from his head and body. His tunic was looser than normal and more of a summer time vibe than his other outfits he wore. His hair still dripping water from the bath he had within the guardhouse walls - his friend called out from the room with a wave goodbye. This night would be held in secret until he died. His mind wavered as he realized he really needed a drink. A lot to drink. He pulls his tunic back over his shoulders and made his way down the stairs that were built attached to the marbled walls. He headed back into the city as he made his way to the market place in search of an open aired pub. He really needed wine tonight. And loads of it. " Take hugo to the tavern up the way. " he tells his salve Lacey, his most favorite of them all. "yes master.." she was quick to follow his words.
Pavlos would walk steadily with the sweat beading off his arms and chest, his breath uneven until he came upon his normal shop. The benches were all lit with candles lightly flickering in the wind, the smell of woman passing by with a hint of their own fragrances caught his attention. His earlier hunt was not thick enough to hide his desires. Annoyed and anger boiling beneath his current stoic expanse - Pavlos would smack his ass down into a chair with a sigh as he waved his hand at his other slave. "fetch me the wine..now!" he said stroking his neck free of the sweat that clung there. The smell of musk clung to his tunic but the freshly scented aroma of oranges and tea leaves clung to his skin. The moonlight danced down the alleyway now as shadows were cast from the high buildings he was surrounded by.
His slave had waited far too long to his liking "woman..." he tells her with a glance in her direction. "master, don't you think it best for this at your home? It's not --" he glares at her now "are you telling me what to do? You? A slave?" he then see's lacey returning back to the table with a sullen expression as always. "Take her away, out of my sight before I get even more pissed off. Return back with the wine or so help me the gods can't save you both tonight." he folds his hands before his face as he leans his lips and nose to his knuckles. If only he would give to have a son right now - he would perhaps be able to let off more steam and show a thing or two to him. But instead his wife left him with daughters, Daughters of all things. Now his blood boiled even more at the thought.
Pavlos had heard the talkings of the other senators, how they believed his daughters to not be of his own blood. Perhaps they were right - after all they didn't take after him and the only one that did acted more like a boy than her own birthed gender. Which didn't bother pavlos as much other than the fact that her gender was locked into stone. She was born a woman and a woman could not carry his name. No matter how much she acted like a man - Pavlos could not see her as such. Biting his lips to the point they drew blood his mind continued to rage him further into a sour mood. That was until Lacey returned with the ale of wine.
He grabs her by the wrist and yanks her to his side. "Pour it.." he didn't even look at her this time. Lacey was quick to do so but made diligence to make sure none of it had spilled outside the cup. When she was done pouring she remained where he had pulled her. Her arm going numb from the sheer force of his pull as it had actually sent an audible gasp from her lips. She rubbed her elbow after he had his fill of his first cup of wine. Lacey would look at her master with sad eyes as she kept to herself "Master...I do not think it wise..." she knew better than to dare talk about such things to him. But it needed to be heard. At least from her lips. Pavlos would glare back at her from behind his hand as he huffed. "not you as well. Lacey I am fine and I do not need my slaves worrying over me. I said it before and I'll say it again. Fuck off and let me drink..." he tells her in a fit of momentary rage.
Lacey leans back and nods. "yes sir.." she falls silent before watching the crowd within the pub come and go. Pavlos kept his eyes on his lap as his heel bounces following his current emotional state. Which was not fitting of any Marikas - but he just couldn't seem to lower his temper tonight. He was thirsty in many more ways than one. And his expression was filled with his contempt and desires.
