Heroes gathered to stop it, releasing a powerful Counter Storm to negate the effects of the original; and it worked, at a price. Now magic is dispersed across the world like a fine mist, hardly useful at all, if you are an ambitious mage.
All except for Valdemar, of course... that land of the sickeningly sweet and ever-so just Heralds and their Companions. They lived for hundreds of years without magic, and now magic appears to be pooling there faster than anywhere else! It just isn't fair, is it? Well, there are other ways to feel the electric thrill of magic singing in your blood, and Valdemar... well. What could they possibly do to stop the flow of the times?
