The drama just kept piling on, it seemed.
Selene was used to a relatively easy life, one where the total sum of the dramatics were pulled from boredom or petty sisterly arguments. Theatrics were usually of her own designs, and even then, they were minimal. While she had a tendency to be a bit self centered at first, her job as the eldest was to make sure her sisters were well looked after. She could set aside her own needs to make sure they were happy. Which was how she ended up assisting her younger sister in the search for a new outfit after hers was saturated with wine.
One crisis managed, the blonde almost didn’t return to the party. Stopped in the hall, there was a long debate in her mind over whether or not to share the news with the queen now of a new rescue plot or to allow it to happen without her interference. Her trust in the Colchian prince ran deep, but the love of her sister was far deeper. Both had been the reason she had used their exit to seek out his help, and now that she had his agreement, Selene wanted to see it through. But her absence would be noted if she did not return, and if there was a need to provide distraction, this would be the best place to do so.
It was hard to turn away from the Queen’s room, but a deep breath and a prayer to the Gods later, Selene was adjusting the hem of her dress before making her way back into the party.
The blonde entered, eyes scanning the room for any sign that Vangelis’s plan was underway. From what she could tell, things were calm. If he had started his plan, no one was aware of it. And Irakles was still in the room, collected and poised. Good, he seemed just as clueless about it as the rest. Scanning the room, she searched for a distraction, even if she was expecting to have to be the distraction herself.
