I hope this letter finds you in Taengea, and that the festive land is treating you well. It has been a while since your departure and we all miss you dearly at home.
Normally I would have sent out this letter sooner, but a handful of disruptive events have issued during your voyage away from Colchis. Not long after you set out for Taengea, Midas was caught in a fearsome storm followed by a huge fire. The double combination wrecked most parts of the city into terrible shape. As far as my knowledge goes, the lower levels and the dock sustained quite the damage. A lot of casualties and losses of lives were had, it was an all-around awful wound to Colchis. Luckily, all of us survived unscathed. I have also personally checked on our partnered merchants and traders, and none of them were terribly affected by the disaster.
Anyway, in the aftermaths of the tempest, I ran into Imeeya of Drakos. She was orchestrating some sort of reconstruction at the dock to mitigate the consequences of the fire with a group of slaves. Political points are easy to score, especially with that girl. Besides the point, she was accompanied by a pirate. Apparently she was on the verge of paying him to get escorted home, but I did her a favor and took over instead. Tythra was not too happy to see me at the doorstep though, especially not after I delicately informed her of what kind of distasteful company her daughter has been keeping.
The Kotas host a free-way market and allowed merchants and traders from everywhere to flock to Midas and do their business here for a night in order to revive the economy afterwards, too. It was not too shabby in my opinion. I was actually satisfied with the festivity, at least until the fire hit a few days later. I did see Evras there with Dion and Zanon. They seemed to have bounced back on their feet and made amends to one another after all of those nasty scars in their relationship. Evie expressed that she could not be more jubilant, and her words appeared to be sincere. Though I would take her words for now and not intrude any further, I still will keep on eye out for her.
A tidbit of information I figure would pique your interest: I spotted something peculiar during evacuation for the fire. As we crossed the Drakos mansion, I saw Vasilios of Vlahakis running out from the house with Imeeya close behind. You remember that pesky militarian right-hand man of Zanon, yes? I assume he was there for some meeting with Tythra since it is known that she often summons people who she wishes to form an allegiance with to her manor. But the outfit Imeeya was adorning on herself, it was more colorful and upscale than her everyday wardrobe. It was as if she was dressing to impress for someone, and it must have been Vasilios since the gap in their respective fleeing from the place was too narrow to by ruled a coincidence.
My theory is that she was sitting in on that meeting with Mommy dearest and Vasilios, and there is a high chance it might have been about courtship. It is the only thing that makes a semblance of sense to me, Imeeya never dressed fancily before this, and Vasilios is definitely beneath her in regard to social status and wealth. There is no other explanation to why else she bothered to doll up for him if it hadn’t been something courtship-related. Nonetheless, if your thinking is different from mine, I am open to hearing it.
That is all the news I can offer you at the moment. On another note, everything here is ready for our annual enlightening get-together in Megaris. As soon as you return, we should move forward with it. We all look forward to welcoming you home, and I wish your travels to be fruitful.
Sincerely yours,
Thea
P/s: Father hurled a tray at me the other day when I brought him dinner. He thought I was Mom. We should really see what we can do about his mental degradation at this point, he is but a shell of the man that he used to be anymore.
