Athanasia watched as Nike shook off her apology, the thought made her wonder if this was how Zanon felt when he was training her. As they were working on Nike's stance, adjusting for how far he pulled the bow, Asia smiled at his question. "You pull back till you think the cord may break, the wood creaks, and your arm is stretched out while your shoulder muscles burn." It wasn't an exact science for Asia, but how she described it it was for what she knew and how she perceived it.
Asia watched as Nike pulled the string back, releasing the arrow with a more satisfying flight that had her clapping Nike on the back as she looked over at him proudly. "Much-" Asia was interrupted by a loud squawk before a small feathered body fell to the earth, making her smile even bigger. "better. Well... That wasn't supposed to happen but now we can say that you went hunting and killed with a bow." Taking the bow that Nike had lowered, Asia nocked another arrow as she walked over to the tree that the pheasant was perched in, looking for another. "Sometimes, there are two and yes we can cook them. That is a pheasant, one of my favorites."
A soft fluttering sound could be heard from above, a soft movement before a leaf fell that had Asia's complete attention. It was then in a quick motion, she lifted her bow and pulled back her arm, letting the arrow go quickly just as the second pheasant tried to escape but failed to as Asia's arrow sliced through it and fell to the ground. "I almost feel bad for them." It was a moment of empathy that had Asia feeling bad even as she knew that it was eat or die as she picked it up from where it landed, and she liked feeding herself and her family. "Be right back. Have you ever had pheasant eggs for breakfast before?" Handing the dead bird to Nike so he could pair it with his own, she started looking around for the nest. It wasn't a hard task since she knew that they liked to make their little homes on the ground in nooks and crannies, so when she spotted the markings around a cluster of rocks nearby, Asia smiled. Looking under the overhanging rock, she could see the clutch. "Do you have a pouch to carry all these in? There has to be at least 15 of them, if not more possibly." As she started to pull out the eggs, she placed them gently on the ground beside her as she counted. "After this do you want to head back home or keep hunting more? I am ok with hunting more if you want too, could try for bigger game?"
