Emilios felt like he was soaring to Olympus, high and happy from everything that life seemed to be putting in front of him. Not only had he told Theo of his intentions to seek her hand, but he had planned to speak to his father before he left about just that-- his wishes to join the two families in marriage. Now, there was nothing holding him back from the future he wished to have. His father would give them land, would set them up for a life together. It seemed all too perfect, and he was beyond content to know that his life was finally going to lead to something that was just for him.
He would get the girl.
He would marry a woman he loved. And he would be happy.
There had been very little said about the relationship. It had all been private and secret. Neither had wanted to ruin the reputation of the other. And with sisters who needed to be married off, too, it would take time for it to be their turn. But he wanted to talk to someone about it-- needed to talk to someone about it.
His visit to Iason was more than just a social call. It had been a few months since he had seen his old friend, and with his own travel coming up, it seemed like a good time to have a conversation with the man. He felt bad for keeping it from his brother since it would have been good to tell him of his good fortune. But he wasn’t ready for that. The only person he wished to tell his secret to was Iason. At least, for now.
Besides, the man said that he had news he wished to share as well. So it seemed fit to give him a bit of his secret as well.
As he rode up to the Dimitrou estate, there was an obvious joy in his demeanor. He was whistling, which was something that was certainly out of the norm for the man. Coming up into the courtyard, he was grinning from ear to ear as he watched Iason of Dimitrou step down to meet him. ”Ah, could not wait to see me, eh?” He asked the grin on his face was bright. ”I’ve missed you, too.”
